A railyard worker contacted the FBI’s field office in Albany in early June 2023 after noticing that someone had tampered with a portion of tracks in Saratoga County, on the Saratoga Corinth and Hudson Railroad in Corinth. The railroad offers scenic tours for passengers of all ages, including field trips for children. Violent Break-In: Burglar Chokes Resident Before Fleeing Home In Region, Police Say A 40-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly breaking into a home in the region and assaulting a resident. The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 4, in Saratoga County, at a home in Corinth. Troopers determined that Peter Winslow, of Corinth, forced his way inside, causing damage.  He allegedly then got into a physical fight with someone inside the home and choked them before fleeing. Saratoga County resident Ronald Skinner, of Corinth, claimed his second prize for matching the first five numbers in the Tuesday, July 26, drawing, New York Lottery announced on Thursday, Oct. 6. Skinner received his prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $651,000 after required withholdings, the lottery said. He told NY Lottery that he plans to use the funds to purchase a home. Couple From Region Tied Dog To Tree In Woods, Abandoned Him, Police Say A couple from the Capital District has been criminally charged after police said they tied their one-year-old dog to a tree in the woods and then abandoned him. Saratoga County residents Noah Center, age 24, and Ashleigh Allen, age 22, both of Corinth, were arrested Thursday, July 14, on multiple charges stemming from the incident. According to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, Center and Allen left the Heeler mix, named Quade, tied up in a wooded area off Route 9 in Corinth, where he remained for at least two days.
