State Police in Saratoga County responded to a home in Milton at around 7:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, after a child called 911 saying their mother was missing. When troopers arrived, they found three children all under the age of 12 who had been left alone by 38-year-old Charlene Sheehy for hours, police said. Woman Admits To Leaving Newborn In Toilet At Area Motel A 23-year-old woman has admitted to abandoning her newborn baby in the toilet bowl of a motel room in the area. Teresa Smith has pleaded guilty to first-degree assault in connection to her leaving her baby in a toilet at a Budget Inn Motel on Route 9W in Newburgh. According to Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler, on Nov. 1 last year, workers at the motel discovered blood, other bodily fluids and soiled clothes in the motel room and contacted police.
