Firefighters raced into action after a car was consumed by flames on a busy parkway in Northern Westchester. The blaze happened on Thursday, June 12 just after 8 p.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on the Taconic State Parkway in Briarcliff Manor, according to the village's fire department. Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Road Near Lake In Kent
A car fire in the Hudson Valley left a busy main road filled with smoke, firefighters said. The incident happened in Putnam County on Wednesday, Feb. 7 around 11 a.m., when a vehicle caught on fire on Route 301 near Canopus Lake in the town of Kent, according to the Cold Spring Fire Company No. 1, which helped respond to the blaze. Arriving fire crews found that the vehicle's occupants had been able to escape unharmed and began extinguishing the blaze. The fire was fully put out by noon, firefighters said. The cause of the blaze was not released.

Car Goes Up In Flames At Intersection In Hudson Valley
Firefighters had to race to a Northern Westchester intersection after a car caught on fire, officials said. The incident happened on Sunday, Dec. 24 just after 3:30 p.m., when firefighters from the Somers Volunteer Fire Department were sent to the intersection of Pines Bridge Road and Moseman Avenue for a motor vehicle fire, the department said. Cars Go Up In Flames At School In Hudson Valley
A raging blaze involving two cars sent firefighters on an early morning trip to a school in Northern Westchester. The fire happened on Sunday, July 9 around 1:30 a.m., when members of the Valhalla Fire Department were sent to the EF Academy in Thornwood, where a vehicle had gone up in flames in the parking lot. While on their way to the school, firefighters then learned that the blaze had spread to a second car. Pickup Truck Bursts Into Flames After Crash At I-684/Saw Mill Junction
This story has been updated. Smoke was sent billowing through the air when a pickup truck became fully engulfed in flames at the merger of I-684 and the Saw Mill River Parkway on Thursday morning. First responders were dispatched at approximately 11 a.m. to I-684, at the Saw Mill River Parkway juncture near exit 43 in Katonah, where there was a multi-vehicle crash that left one car in flames near the guardrail of the southbound lanes.
