Havin Morris, age 21, of Pleasanton, California, a student at West Point in Orange County in the town of Highlands, drowned on Monday, March 25, while on leave in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. “Cadet Morris was a valued member of the Corps of Cadets, committed to serving his country as an Army Officer," said West Point Superintendent Lt. Missing 3-Year-Old Found Dead In Region A Rensselaer County family is grieving the loss of their 3-year-old child after he was found dead in a swimming pool. The boy was reported missing Sunday, April 17, from a house on Oakhurst Street in Pleasantdale, the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement. After an extensive search that included more than 100 volunteers, the boy was eventually found unresponsive in a pool on the property where he lived. First responders tried to revive the boy, but he was later pronounced dead at Samaritan Hospital. The death has been deemed an accidental drowning, sheriff’s officials …

Semiconscious Girls Rushed To Westchester Medical Center After Near Drowning In Area Two young girls ages 2 and 3 were pulled semiconscious from a pool outside a home in the area. The incident took place around 12:30 p.m., Monday, May 20, at a home on Sydell Lane in Spring Valley, said Ramapo Police Sgt. Shawn Baker. First responders who arrived on the scene found the girls in the partially-fenced pool, semiconscious and not breathing, police said. Emergency personnel were able to resuscitate the girls before they were rushed to Westchester Medical Center, Baker said. He reported that both girls were "much better," and are expected to survive.
