Former Brookfield School Finance Chief Faces New Charges
BROOKFIELD, Conn. - In late September, former Brookfield schools finance chief Art Colley faced new larceny, conspiracy and forgery charges after Brookfield police finished their investigation.
According to the News Times, Colley, 58, turned himself i nto police and was released on a $30,000 bond Thursday, Sept. 24. Colley had been charged earlier this year with second-degree larceny and third-degree forgery. He was accused of receiving reimbursement for iPads that had never been purchased.
Police allege that Colley took more than $53,000 from school funds, the News Times reports.

Sen. Hwang Meets With World War II Veteran From Fairfield
FAIRFIELD, Conn. - State Sen. Tony Hwang, R-28th District, recently talked with a 94-year-old Fairfield resident who served as a paratrooper in World War II. Ed Crowley Sr. jumped into Normandy, France, on D-Day, June 6, 1944. He served in the 82nd Airborne Division right out of high school.
"I was a young man, they had to have young men to go to war, so I joined up," Crowley said when asked what made him want to join the Army. "I joined the service to be in the service."
