POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- As the Poughkeepsie City School District prepares to vote on hiring a deputy superintendent Wednesday, a board member is crying foul.
Kathleen Farrell is set to be hired as Deputy Superintendent of the Poughkeepsie City School District with a five-year-contract and a $150,000 salary.
Two school board trustees who were recently voted out of office will be approving Farrell's hire. Their replacements will not join the board until July.
Board member Felicia Watson and Doreen Clifford and Debra Long, who will join the board in July, sent letters to the school board questioning the hire as well as other decisions the lame duck board will be voting on, according to The Poughkeepsie Journal.
Watson told the Journal she's been kept out of the loop about Farrell and knew nothing about her until she was on the agenda.
