Poughkeepsie Police Working Without Contract Or Raises

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- It's the fourth year the PBA and Poughkeepsie officials haven't agreed to a contract, and the fifth police officers aren't getting a cost of living raise, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal.

The new Common Council is supposed to approve a contract this month and if they can't, a state arbitrator could be brought in, reports the Poughkeepsie Journal. 

Police Chief Ronald Knapp said overall crime is down and working without a contract is bad for the department's morale, says the Poughkeepsie Journal.
