A pair of Poughkeepsie pot buyers were interrupted by investigators from New Jersey who found them carrying 12 pounds of the drug, authorities said.
Tipped off a short time earlier that Sashagaye Brown, 31, of Paterson, N.J., was selling large quantities of marijuana in the area, investigators moved in Friday during a deal in Hackensack and found the pot in the trunk, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir S. Grewal said.
They arrested Brown, along with Kevin Marsh, 39, and Dale Smart, 38, all of whom are unemployed, he said.
An underage girl in Brown’s care who was in the vehicle was taken to his office before being turned over to her mother, the prosecutor said.
Marsh, Smart and Brown were all released on summonses pending Dec. 27 first appearances on drug charges in Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack.
The prosecutor thanked Hackensack police for their participation in the investigation and arrests.
