Officers from the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Department responded to a North Grand Avenue home on Monday, March 25, where there was a report of a domestic incident involving a woman and her ex-boyfriend.

Police said that a woman at the residence stated that her ex-boyfriend, Poughkeepsie resident Fitzgerald D. Davis, Jr. - who left before officers arrived - had forcefully taken her cellphone from her hands. Investigators eventually tracked down Davis later in the day, and he was taken into custody without further incident.

Davis, 38, was arrested and charged with third-degree robbery, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. Following his arraignment in the Town of Poughkeepsie Court, Davis was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $30,000 bond. No return court date has been announced.
