A 24-year-old woman from Dutchess County was arrested after allegedly attempting to steal nearly $250 in merchandise from an Ulster County Walmart.
Shortly before 5:20 p.m. on Tuesday, the Ulster Police Department arrested Poughkeepsie resident Rosmery Banegas, who was charged by Walmart loss prevention agents for allegedly shoplifting $246.70 worth of merchandise.
Banegas was charged with a misdemeanor count of petit larceny and was arraigned in Town of Ulster Court. She was released and is due back in court later this year.
