Loren E. Pinckney, 68, Of Union Vale

UNION VALE, N.Y. -- Loren E. Pinckney, 68, a resident of Union Vale for 30 years and formerly of Brewster, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016. 

Born Oct. 24, 1947, in Mahopac, he was the son of Ralph and Irmgard Emmert Pinckney. 

He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. 

He was a self-employed engineer. 

For many years, Pinckney volunteered with the Union Vale Fire Department as both a firefighter and EMS. 

He is survived by the love of his life, Catherine Speidell. Together they ran their horse farm in Union Vale. He also is survived by his sister, Leona Nemac; and his brother, Raymond Pinckney.

Calling hours will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Firematic and military honors will be conducted at 7 p.m. 

Memorial donations in his name may be made to the American Kidney Fund.
