James Randy Dudley, 53, Former Beacon Resident

BEACON, N.Y. -- James "R.D." Randy Dudley -- a Worcester, Massachusetts resident, formerly of Beacon -- died on Saturday, Feb. 6. He was 53.

Born in Beacon, Dudley attended Beacon High School, where he was on the football and basketball teams. He was a former member of the Beacon NSO, he performed in various plays with Curt Stewart, and was a member of Springfield Baptist Church, in Beacon.

He is survived by his children, Scott Douglas of Poughkeepsie, Tyshawn Dudley, Tyrell Dudley, James Dudley, Devon Dudley and Erick Dudley, all of Massachusetts, and Sherella Dudley of North Carolina; mother Mary Williamson of Beacon; siblings Desiree Sweat of Beacon and Lisa Jones of Poughkeepsie, brother Ronald Dudley of Beacon; uncle Samuel "Uncle Bub" Lunsford; cousin "Byrd"; seven grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dudley was predeceased by his father, James Lee Dudley, sister Sandra Dudley, and maternal grandparents Margie and Jack Williamson.

Visiting hours will be from 11 a.m. to noon on Thursday, Feb. 25, at Springfield Baptist Church, 8 Church St., Mattie Cooper Square, Beacon, followed by a noon services. Pastor Ronald O. Perry Sr. will officiate. Libby Funeral Home, in Beacon, is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made directly to the family.
