Margaret Hart pleaded guilty to third-degree larceny, a Class D felony, before Judge George Fufidio, who was sitting in as Acting Dutchess County Judge.
By pleading guilty, the 57-year-old Hart admitted she stole over $27,000 from funds collected by the Town Clerk's Office for various fees, Grady said.
The fees included monies collected for refuse tickets, marriage licenses, hunting/fishing licenses and property taxes, the DA's Office said.
If Hart makes full restitution of the $27,000, she will receive five years probation. She must also serve 300 hours of community service at the Pleasant Valley Food Pantry.
