The city garnered the notice from Getaway mavens, a travel website that gleans "eclectic, ‘turnkey’ getaway locations with a focus on one-of-a-kind shopping, foodie-approved dining and luxury lodging," according to the WRRV Radio report.

The city has enjoyed a resurgence when Dia: Beacon opened in May of 2003, according to the radio station.

The museum in the former Nabisco box printing plant on the Hudson River is among tourist attractions, as are its array of restaurants and bar, and pedestrian friendly Main Street and shops, WRRV Radio said.

The "top 20" list also includes Martha’s Vineyard, Newport, R.I. and several Connecticut beach towns, according to WRRV Radio.
