POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. -- The Bardavon in Poughkeepsie will continue its "The Met: Live in HD" series with a broadcast of "Les Pêcheurs de Perles" on Saturday, Jan. 16.

The production by director Penny Woolcock will be the first time the Met has presented Georges Bizet's opera since Enrico Caruso starred in 1916. Gianandrea Noseda will conduct.

The cast features Diana Damrau as priestess Leïla and Matthew Polenzani and Mariusz Kwiecien as the titular pearl fishers Nadir and Zurga, who become rivals for Leila's affections.

Leslie Gerber, music teacher for Marist College's Center for the Lifetime Studies, will lead a talk at the Bardavon one hour before curtain time for ticket holders.

Tickets are $27 for adults, $25 for members and $20 for children and are available at the Bardavon box office or through ticketmaster.com.
