Water Main Break Leads To Early Dismissal At HS, MS In Hudson Valley A water main break has resulted in early dismissals at a high school and middle school in Westchester. The break "involves a significant 12-inch pipe that has no timeline for completion," Mount Pleasant Central School Superintendent Peter Giarrizzo said in an email to the community late Thursday morning, May 12.  Giarrizzo said there is currently no water at both Westlake High School, Westlake Middle School and the district office. Video: Water Main Break Causes Road Closure In Area A water main break in Ramapo caused damage to a busy roadway and forcing its closure. Forshay Road is closed between Parker Boulevard and Grandview Avenue in Ramapo, the police department announced early Friday afternoon, Aug. 9. According to police, the water main break caused the road to buckle, leaving a large crevice in the turning lane. The roadway is closed as Suez makes repairs, and motorists in the area have been advised to seek alternate routes.

Water Main Break Causes Closure At School In Area A water main break has closed down a northern Rockland County elementary school in Thiells. Willow Grove Elementary School on Storrs Road was closed on Tuesday, Jan. 22 due to a water main break, the Northern Rockland School District announced. Officials said a pipe burst leading up to the water meter outside the school on Storrs Road, prompting the closure. Instead of reporting to Willow Grove, students were told to report to the Fieldstone Middle School on Fieldstone Drive in Thiells for classes. The cause of the break has not been disclosed. Water Main Break Closes Street In Wallkill A busy roadway in Wallkill was closed on Wednesday as crews deal with a water main break in the area. The Wallkill Office of Emergency Management issued an alert at approximately 5:30 a.m., cautioning that East Main Street will be closed between Ridgewood Avenue and Brookline Avenue as crews deal with the water main break.
