Car Strikes Two Teens On Bikes, Seriously Injuring One In Area Police are asking the public for help in an investigation in which a car struck a bicycle, injuring two teens, one seriously, in the area. The incident took place in the Town of Poughkeepsie around 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, during the intense snowstorm on Vassar Road in front of Dimpy's Food Mart. According to officers with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, a red 2014 Subaru Legacy operated by a 34-year-old Poughkeepsie resident struck a bicycle that was being ridden by a 15-year-old boy from Poughkeepsie, and a 16-year-old girl from Wappingers Falls.…

Bicyclist Killed In Crash Near Food Mart In Area, Police Say A Town of Poughkeepsie bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Vassar Road. The crash took place around 6:35 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, on Vassar Road, near the Dimpy's Food Mart at 401 Vassar Road, said the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd. During the crash, a 2010 Honda, operated by a 63-year-old Poughkeepsie resident, struck a 41-year-old bicyclist, also of Poughkeepsie, O'Dowd said. The bicyclist sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.  The driver of the Honda did not sustain a…
