Car Strikes Two Teens On Bikes, Seriously Injuring One In Area Police are asking the public for help in an investigation in which a car struck a bicycle, injuring two teens, one seriously, in the area. The incident took place in the Town of Poughkeepsie around 7:30 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, during the intense snowstorm on Vassar Road in front of Dimpy's Food Mart. According to officers with the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Traffic Enforcement Unit, a red 2014 Subaru Legacy operated by a 34-year-old Poughkeepsie resident struck a bicycle that was being ridden by a 15-year-old boy from Poughkeepsie, and a 16-year-old girl from Wappingers Falls.…

Bicyclist Killed In Crash Near Food Mart In Area, Police Say A Town of Poughkeepsie bicyclist died after being hit by a vehicle on Vassar Road. The crash took place around 6:35 p.m., Monday, Aug. 12, on Vassar Road, near the Dimpy's Food Mart at 401 Vassar Road, said the Town of Poughkeepsie Police Lt. Michael O’Dowd. During the crash, a 2010 Honda, operated by a 63-year-old Poughkeepsie resident, struck a 41-year-old bicyclist, also of Poughkeepsie, O'Dowd said.
