State Police Car Struck While Assisting Disabled Vehicle In Tuxedo Three people were injured, including a State Trooper when their vehicle was struck from behind while assisting another driver on a busy Hudson Valley highway. The incident took place in Orange County on I-87 northbound in the town of Tuxedo around 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 15. Orange County Nan Nabbed For Felony DWI During Traffic Stop, Police Say A Hudson Valley man has been arrested for alleged felony driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content (BAC) more than twice the legal limit. Orange County resident Hosmar J. Garcia Giron, age 23, was arrested on Monday, Aug. 23 during a traffic stop on I-87 in the town of Cornwall. During the stop, Giron, of Newburgh, was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was taken into custody and processed at police headquarters, where his BAC was determined to be .18 percent, or more than twice the legal limit of .08 percent, said Trooper Tara McCormick. ID Released For 38-Year-Old Killed In I-87 Crash State Police have identified the driver of a tractor-trailer killed in a crash on I-87 in Rockland County. Victor M. Naula Lopez, age 38, of Whitestone, Queens, was killed around 5 a.m., Friday, March 12, on I-87 in Ramapo, said Trooper Tara McCormick. During the crash, Lopez was operating a 2018 Peterbilt tractor-trailer northbound on I-87, in the middle lane when a 2021 Toyota sideswiped the tractor-trailer, causing it to spin out and strike a 2011 Freightliner Semi, driven by Celso A. Duo Nabbed With Crack, Heroin During Traffic Stop, State Police Say New York State Police nabbed a duo for alleged possession of crack cocaine and heroin during a traffic stop. Alan Stone, 27, of Pacific, Montana, and Cameron Mollica, 43, of Jacksonville, North Carolina, were arrested around 12:31 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 14, in Orange County during a stop in the town of Woodbury, said Trooper Tara McCormick. According to McCormick, during an interview with the driver, the trooper found probable cause to search the vehicle and found more than 2.6 grams of crack cocaine and 7.5 grams of heroin.
