Local Man Charged After Shot Fired At Popular Pizzeria In Area
A local man has been charged in connection to a shot-fired incident at a Hudson Valley restaurant. The Dutchess County incident took place in the town of Fishkill at Antonella's Pizza around 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 2. According to Trooper AJ Hicks, the state police, the Town of Fishkill, and the Village of Fishkill police departments responded to Antonella’s Pizza located on State Route 9 in the village of Fishkill for a report of a shot fired into the business. 21 Charged With Driving While Impaired/Intoxicated During St. Patrick's Day Crackdown In Area
Nearly two dozen drivers were busted by police for alleged impaired driving in the Hudson Valley during a St. Patrick’s Day holiday crackdown. Local law enforcement agencies in Dutchess County collaborated as part of a “High Visibility Community Engagement Campaign” that ran from Wednesday, March 16 through Sunday, March 20, leading to the arrests of 21 people for DWI-related offenses. Among the arrests was Joseph Pasqualina, age 27, of Tivoli, who allegedly took police from the Red Hook Police Department on a brief chase when they attempted to stop him for a vehicle and traffic violation.…

Barricaded Man Who Threatened Troopers With What Looked Like A Rifle Taken Into Custody In Area
State Police took a man into custody after he barricaded himself in Wappinger and then threatened officers with what looked like a rifle. The event took place around 9 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, in Wappinger, said Trooper AJ Hicks. Police responded to the home of Jerry Ford, 44, Wappinger after receiving a request for a welfare check, Hicks said. Ford apparently became "upset" while being interviewed and went inside his home and came back out with what looked like a rifle and pointed it at officers, he added. Longtime Area Police Detective Dies Unexpectedly
A popular longterm police detective in the Hudson Valley died unexpectedly after nearly 50 years serving the community. This week, the Town of Fishkill Police Department announced that detective Ted “Teddy” Alston died on Monday, Feb. 17. Police Officer Credited With Saving Young Girl's Life In Area
A quick-thinking police officer was in the right place at the right time and is now being credited for saving the life of a child who was choking. A Dutchess County 911 alert was issued warning officers in the Town of Fishkill that a child was choking and not breathing on Saturday, Jan. 4. Town of Fishkill Police Officer Kevin Martyn jumped into action when the dispatch came across his radio, and he was able to arrive at the scene within seconds.
