Bridge In Rockland Will Be Closed During Rail Line Work A busy Rockland bridge will be closed for several months as contracting crews get set for a lengthy reconstruction project in the area. An alert was issued on Monday to Rockland County residents warning that beginning on Monday, April 2, the Samsondale Avenue Bridge in West Haverstraw over the CSX rail lines in West Haverstraw will be closed to all traffic for the bridge reconstruction project. Officials said that the project is expected to last through Dec. 2, when it is expected to be reopened to traffic. While the bridge is closed, motorists have been advised to seek alternate routes.
