Suspect Nabbed For Stealing $33K Worth Of Phones In Orange County, Police Say A 35-year-old man has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly stealing $33,000 in cell phones. Tairon Pressley, of the Bronx, was arrested after an investigation into a highly organized retail theft of cellular phones, said Trooper Steven Nevel, of the New York State Police. He is accused of using stolen account information from cellular customers to steal Apple and Samsung smartphones from the Middletown Walmart on Route 211 on several dates in February and March, Nevel said.  Nevel said Pressley is accused of stealing over $33,000 worth of phones. The Orange County Department of Health issued the alert cautioning that employees and customers who visited the AT&T store on Route 211 in Middletown on Friday, Oct. 16, Saturday, Oct. 17, or Monday, Oct. 19 may have been exposed to the virus. Golden Corral In Orange County Suddenly Shuts Down A Golden Corral restaurant in the area has unexpectedly and suddenly shuttered its doors in Orange County. The Golden Corral on Route 211 in Middletown has announced it will be temporarily closed, and reopening soon, according to its website.  A printed sign has also been posted on the front door of the restaurant that reads “To our valued guests Golden Corral Middletown will be temporarily closed.” No reason for the temporary closure has been offered. Since the new year began, New York State Police and local law enforcement agencies have been “out in full force” to curtail impaired drivers in the region as part of a statewide crackdown. Among those arrested was Middletown resident Rob Whitby, 59, who was stopped on Route 211 in Middletown on Wednesday morning for a vehicle and traffic law violation.
