The incident took place in Orange County in Newburgh around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at the Newburgh Inn, the old Hudson Valley Hotel on Route 17K. Lt. Troopers stopped Newburgh resident Roy Brown, 59, on Route 17K in Newburgh on Wednesday, Aug. 12, when he committed a traffic violation, police said. The incident began in Orange County around 10:54 a.m., Thursday, August 1, when State Police attempted to stop a black Chevy Tahoe on I-87 near the Newburgh exit, based on a BOLO alert for a suspect vehicle wanted for questioning regarding a felony investigation, said Trooper Tara McCormick, spokeswoman for the New York State Police.
