Airborne Car Crashes Into Hudson Valley Home, Police Say An out-of-control car that went airborne after hitting an embankment struck a home in the region. The incident took place in Dutchess County around 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Route 9G in the town of Red Hook. According to Red Hook Police, the crash took place when a 2002 Subaru driven by a 41-year-old Catskills man was driving south on Walkers Hill Road when the car crossed into the northbound lane, struck an embankment, became airborne, and hit the home. An investigation revealed that a 2002 Jeep being operated by a 16-year-old girl from Milan was northbound on Route 9. Man Airlifted Following Two-Vehicle Crash In Area A 34-year-old man was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle crash. It happened around 11:20 a.m., Monday, Sept. 6, in Dutchess County on Route 9G in Red Hook. The man was driving a 1986 Suzuki motorcycle northbound on Route 9G approaching the Rokeby Road intersection when he was hit by an Irvington woman driving a 2011 Toyota passenger car who failed to yield the right of way, according to the Red Hook Police. Potik, age 28, of Wappingers Falls, was sentenced on Friday, Aug. 20 for the incident which took place on Friday, Nov. 15, 2019, just blocks away from a primary school, leading to a school lockdown in Red Hook. Potik, who pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder, as well as two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies. The incident took place around 8:36 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 11, when Dutchess County Sheriff's deputies responded to a 911 call on Clay Hill Road in the Village of Tivoli, said authorities.
