'Life Spent Helping Others': Woman, 29, Fatally Stabbed In Area Remembered
Family and friends of a Hudson Valley woman stabbed to death are remembering her for spending her life helping others.
Dutchess County resident Melanie Anne Chianese, age 29, of the town of Wappinger, a lifelong area resident, was killed on Sunday, May 29 in Wappinger, an innocent, secondary victim of domestic violence, her obituary said.

Stephen Anderson, Formerly Of Highland, Dies Suddenly At 41
Stephen Anderson of Poughkeepsie, who previously was a longtime Highland resident, died suddenly on Monday, Aug. 12, at age 41.
He was born in Poughkeepsie on May 12, 1978.
Survivors include his children, Jamel and Dejah Anderson; his parents Joseph and Betty Anderson of Highland; their kids Holly, Jason, Michael and his wife Erin.
In addition, brothers John, Charlie and Joseph, sisters, Joane, Betty, Allison and Rachell, and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place on Friday, Aug. 16 at 1 p.m. at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery, 342 South Ave., Poughkeepsie.
Orange County Entrepreneur Donald Knueppel Dies At 32
Donald Knueppel, an entrepreneur and longtime resident of the area, died on Thursday, Feb. 8 at Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center in the Town of Hamptonburgh. He was 32.
The son of Robert Knueppel Jr. and Michele Wallentine, he was born on July 8, 1985 in Jersey City. Donnie enjoyed WWE Wrestling, karaoke, dancing, sports, drawing, singing, and playing video games. He also enjoyed meeting new people, spending time with his family and friends, and was a real ladies' man.
Family would describe Donnie as a kind, compassionate, and free-spirited soul.
