Threat Of Bombs At Hudson Valley Mall Leads To Evacuation, Search, Police Say A busy Sunday at a mall in the region quickly turned to fear when officials began evacuating the building due to a bomb threat. The incident took place in Dutchess County at the Poughkeepsie Galleria on Sunday, Oct. 29 just before 2 p.m. Capt. Michael O'Dowd of the town of Poughkeepsie Police said 911 received a call reporting that bombs had been placed at the Galleria.  The call was immediately transferred to town police who responded and met with Galleria management and the decision was made to evacuate the building as a precaution, O'Dowd said. RPM Raceway To Open Soon In Poughkeepsie Galleria The quarter-mile indoor go-kart track at the Poughkeepsie Galleria will soon be waving the checkered flag again. RPM Raceway announced this week that it will be opening a new location before the end of the year in the Galleria, near the movie theater. It will replace K1 Speed, which shuttered its doors to members earlier this year. The company said that it will feature a “European-style” track, and its karts will travel upwards of 45 mph at top speed.
