The incident took place in Rockland County early Monday, July 10 at 1 Municipal Plaza in the village of Spring Valley. Spring Hill Community Ambulance Corps responded to the scene and found that the person was heavily pinned under the New Jersey Transi train, which required a prolonged extrication. ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck by a New Haven Line train in Westchester. Aurelia Franchitti, age 21, of Woodside, in Queens, was fatally struck after stepping in front of an eastbound train at Rye Station around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials said.  Earlier report: Person Killed After Stepping In Front Of Train In Rye The MTA Police are investigating the incident.  Officials said at this early stage in the investigation, the incident does not appear criminal or accidental in nature.

Paul Engel, age 67, of Manhattan, was killed in Orange County around 5:30 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 17 in Scotchtown, a hamlet of the town of Wallkill. The incident occurred around 1 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29 in Buchanan on Albany Post Road (Route 9A) between the railroad bridge and Bleakley Avenue near the Peekskill border. Man Jumps Into Hudson River After Trespassing On Train Tracks, MTA Says A man was arrested for trespassing on the tracks at the Scarborough Metro-North Station after jumping into the Hudson River in an attempt to escape. The incident took place around 9:40 a.m. Tuesday when the man was spotted trespassing on the tracks by MTA Police, MTA officials said. The man then jumped into the Hudson River when he was spotted by the officers. About 15 minutes later, he was out of the water and in custody, officials said.
