Connecticut State Police are investigating the officer-involved shooting that took place between a Danbury police officer and a man armed with two large knives off a busy stretch of I-84 near the New York/Connecticut border. Two Seriously Injured In Rollover I-84 Crash
A single-vehicle, rollover crash on I-84 has resulted in serious injuries for two individuals involved, authorities say. The crash occurred late in the evening on Monday, Jan. 28 in Danbury. Danbury Fire Dispatch received a number of calls reporting an overturned vehicle on I-84 eastbound prior to Exit 3, according to James Gagliardo of the Danbury FD. Emergency crews responded to find that the vehicle, 200 feet of guard rail and one highway light pole had sustained significant damage. 25-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Crash With SUV Near Mall Entrance
A 25-year-old Fairfield County man was killed following a crash with a car, according to Danbury Police. Samuel Hyde of Danbury died Thursday following a serious crash around 7 p.m. on Backus Avenue near the west entrance of the Danbury Mall, said Danbury Police Det. Lt. Mark Williams. An investigation into the crash found that Hyde was operating a Honda CBR 954RR motorcycle at a high rate of speed, westbound on Backus Avenue when the motorcycle struck a 2008 Honda CRV, Williams said. A wanted fugitive from justice was nabbed by Putnam County Sheriff's deputies during a routine traffic stop in the Town of Southeast, according to Putnam County Sheriff Robert L.
