Popular Hudson Valley Teacher Dies Suddenly At Age 48 A popular Northern Westchester teacher died unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 22. Danielle Marie Coletta of Peekskill was 48 years old. She was a sixth-grade teacher at Mildred E. Strang Middle School in Yorktown. Covid-19: More Students, Staffer At Hudson Valley Schools Test Positive Five new COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in three Westchester schools. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero said that two students at Henry Barnard Early Childhood Center have tested positive for the virus, as has a second student at Columbus Elementary School and a classroom aide at Columbus. Interim New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Alex Marrero announced that a staff member at Albert Leonard Middle School has tested positive for COVID-19 and was last in the building on Tuesday, Oct. 27. Area Elementary School Student Tests Positive For Tuberculosis An elementary school student in Westchester is being treated for tuberculosis. New Rochelle Schools Superintendent Brian Osborne issued an alert at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Thursday evening, alerting the community that the Westchester County Department of Health has notified officials that a student at Columbus Elementary School has been diagnosed with the malady.
