Multi-Million Tax Break For Lego Land Owner Gets Green Light

GOSHEN, N.Y. – The Orange County Industrial Development Agency unanimously approved a 20-year, $88.64 million payment-in-lieu-of-taxes proposal for the owner of Legoland on Thursday, according to the Times Herald-Record.

Merlin Entertainments, Legoland's parent company will pay  $10.3 million to Orange County, $11.65 million to the Town of Goshen, $60.56 million to Goshen schools and $5.73 million to the fire department over 20 years. The deal will save Melin roughly $37 million in taxes, the Record Reported. 

Legoland now only needs the Town of Goshen to approve a final site plan to move forward, the Record said.
