The bad news? It's to the tune of $16,300.
The GHS is turning to the public with a GoFundMe campaign, where nearly $1,000 had been raised as of Thursday afternoon.
"In a nutshell, individual outdoor dog runs are an absolute necessity to the safety of the shelter — not a luxury," said the page's creator, Susan Lynn Puzio Bossley.
"Yes, this is expensive, but safety-wise it is a necessity and our dogs deserve it."
Each run will have have double fencing running down each divider which will be about 3.5 inches thick. Every run will have its own gate with lock at the end of the run.
This way, the dogs won't have to wait for an employee to let them out one at a time.
"These dogs are are so grateful for everything they get, and I can tell you that they will be very, very happy dogs once these runs are completed," Bossley said.
