6 Cows On Run After Tractor-Trailer Hauling Cattle Crashes In Hudson Valley
Six cows are on the loose tafter a trailer hauling cattle crashed, dumping 15 cows onto a busy highway. The incident occurred in Orange County at 6:15 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20, at the intersection of I-84 and Route 6 in Deerpark. According to Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Kenworth carrying cows of various breeds was traveling west when the driver stated that his brakes failed. SUV Fatally Strikes Man Walking On Hudson Valley Road
A 53-year-old man was struck and killed by an SUV while walking on a Hudson Valley roadway. Troopers in Orange County responded to Neversink Drive in Deerpark at about 9:15 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 12, for a report that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, New York State Police said. Investigators found that a 2007 Ford Explorer was eastbound on Neversink Drive near the intersection of Country Club Drive and struck Michael Szczepanski, a resident of Deerpark, police said. 20-Year-Old Dies In Apparent Drowning At Beach In Hudson Valley
A young man has died in an apparent drowning in the Hudson Valley. In Orange County, state police were called at around 5:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, with reports of a possible drowning on the Delaware River in Deerpark, near Hook Road Beach. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Town of Deerpark Police and Sparrowbush Fire Department. A 21-year-old man is facing charges after allegedly injuring his victim’s eye when a large fight broke out in the area, State Police said. New York State Police troopers in Orange County and officers from the Town of Deerpark Police responded to Forrest Drive at approximately 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, where there was a report of a fight in progress.
