Man Taken Into Custody After Being Barricaded In Lake Carmel A man who barricaded himself inside a home in Lake Carmel was taken into custody late Friday night. The incident began Friday afternoon around 3:40 p.m. in the Vernon Drive area when a family member called police reporting the situation. The Putnam Sheriff's Department and Kent Police responded with assistance from Westchester County Police. There had been reports the man had a gun and that a loud bang was heard at one point, but no weapon was immediately recovered.
