Car Rolls Down Hill Into Building, Ditch In Northern Westchester
A building in Northern Westchester was damaged after a car rolled down a hill and crashed into it before ending up in a ditch. The crash happened on Friday, Oct. 4 in Mount Kisco, when an unattended vehicle rolled through a grass field, through a garden, and into the corner of a garage on Brookside Avenue, according to Independent Fire Co. #13 of the Mount Kisco Fire Department. After hitting the garage, the car then rolled down an embankment, firefighters said. No injuries were reported. The vehicle was later towed away and the area was cordoned off.

Two heroes are being recognized for their quick-thinking actions that saved a woman's life and prevented her Northern Westchester home from being destroyed by a fire. A child was airlifted to the hospital after being seriously injured during a fall on a school field trip in the region. The incident happened at about 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3 in Dutchess County at the Mount Beacon Trail head. A driver was taken to a hospital following a crash in Northern Westchester that left two utility poles snapped. The crash happened on Friday, Oct. 4 just before 8:30 p.m., when a vehicle hit two poles on Route 133 in Mount Kisco near the intersection with Crow Hill Road, according to Independent Fire Co. #13 of the Mount Kisco Fire Department. Authorities raced to a Hudson Valley high school after an alarm was accidentally tripped, police said. Car Bursts Into Flames, Shuts Down I-84 Stretch In Brewster
A stretch of Interstate 84 in the Hudson Valley was temporarily closed to traffic after a car went up in flames on the shoulder. The blaze happened in Putnam County on Saturday evening, Sept. 21, when a vehicle caught on fire on Interstate 84 West in Brewster, according to the village's fire department. 4 Rescued After Sailboat Overturns On Long Island Sound
Emergency responders from two counties teamed up to rescue several people after a sailboat overturned on the Long Island Sound. The incident happened around 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22 Marine 7 of the Nassau County Police Department Marine Bureau Unit responded for reports of an overturned sailboat. With the assistance of the Westchester Police Department, all four occupants were removed from the water and the sail boat was towed to shore by Town of North Hempstead Bay Constable. Trapped Driver Rescued After Crashing Into Swamp In Brewster
A driver was flown to a hospital after crashing into a swamp in the Hudson Valley. Truck Backs Into House In Westchester
A house had to be stabilized after a truck slammed into it in Westchester. The crash happened on Monday, Sept. 16 around 12:30 p.m., when a truck backed into a house in Ardsley, according to the Hartsdale Fire Department. Soon after the collision, crews from the Hartsdale, Greenville, and Fairview Fire Departments responded to the residence to shore the building before removing the truck.
