Historic Clock In Bedford Suffers Severe Damage During Winding One of the beacons of Bedford that has graced the town since 1885 was severely damaged while workers were working on the Sutton Clock which sits at the corner of Guard Hill and Succabone Roads. The damage happened two weeks ago, while one of the 13 Clock Winders -- a group of residents who maintain the clock -- was performing the weekly winding when something went very wrong. Proposed Cell Tower Sparks Concern Among Bedford Residents Opponents of a proposed Verizon cell tower in the heart of Bedford Village are encouraging residents to attend a public meeting on Monday, June 18. The meeting begins at 8 p.m. in the Court Room at 321 Bedford Road in Bedford Hills. The Board of Directors of the Bedford Historical Society opposes it and is seeking other public input.
