Margaret Vatter, 52, Westchester Native
Westchester County native Maggie Harding Vatter, formerly of Cornwall, died following a long illness on Thursday, Sept. 28, in Providence, R.I. She was 52.
The daughter of Patrick Joseph Harding and the late Maurie Panzer Harding, Vatter was born at St. John’s Hospital in Yonkers on Oct. 29, 1964.
Vatter grew up on Jackson Avenue in New Windsor, with her siblings, Mary Harding Kramer, the late Patrick Kevin Harding, the late Timothy Gerard Harding, and the late Kathleen Ann Harding. She attended Cornwall schools where her sparkling personality won her many devoted friends. Mag graduated fr…

Edward McGovern Of Garnerville, 44
Edward T. McGovern, 44, of Garnerville, died Monday, Oct. 2.
McGovern is survived by his parents Kathleen and James McGovern; daughter Myla McGovern; brothers and sisters, Kathleen and Richard Kearns, James and Christine McGovern, Deborah McGovern, Colleen McGovern and Marc Ryan, and nieces Katie and Kelly Guarino and Maura McGovern.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 5 at T.J. McGowan Sons Funeral Home, 133 Broadway, Haverstraw; Catholic Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Oct. 6 at St. Gregory Barbarigo Church, Garnerville.
John 'Jay' Kennedy, 39, Westchester Native
John W. "Jay" Kennedy, 39, of Brewster, formerly of Purdys, died suddenly on Monday, Oct. 2.
Born in New Rochelle, on Sept. 14, he was the son of William Kennedy and the late Mary Ann Fediw Kennedy.
Kennedy was the beloved of Liane V. Watkins and the devoted godfather of Ann McNamara and Oscar Watkins.
Musically gifted vocally and on the piano, Kennedy performed for many years at services in the old St. Joseph's gym. He loved being on stage and performed with bands and at karaoke all around the world. He also had an amazing sense of humor although as he often said: "some of…
