Duda, who plays first base for the Mets, talked with the kids about himself during the questions period, including his favorite color – it’s blue – and about his biggest goal, which is to win.
After taking questions, Duda posed for a group photo with the kids near first base. He then signed autographs for several items, including baseballs, gloves, cards and a replica of his jersey that a kid was wearing. Several kids were wearing Mets attire, including caps and shirts.
Dave Silverstein, a co-founder of the day camp, called Duda’s appearance a “highlight for our kids.” Discussing what Duda did during his appearance, Silverstein mentioned that he was covering swings and covering bases.
The camp has had different Major League Baseball players as visitors before, according to Silverstein.
Duda, discussing his appearance after the autograph signings, spoke positively of the visit and said that he hopes the kids will continue to have fun.
