SOMERS, N.Y. -- New York State Police are continuing to search for a man who robbed a bank at gunpoint in Somers last week.
The robbery took place at the Chase Bank in Baldwin Place around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19. The man walked into the bank, displayed a black handgun and demanded U.S. currency from the teller, according to state police. He then left the bank on foot, headed in an unknown direction.
The bank and police are not disclosing how much money was taken, according to Trooper Melissa McMorris. Police are still investigating the incident. McMorris said that they have looked into a couple of leads, but no suspects have yet been identified.
The suspect was described as a light-skinned white male in his mid-30s with a slender build. He was unshaven and had poor oral hygiene, according to police. He was wearing a black baseball hat, dark colored footwear and a black Adidas wind breaker with white stripes down the side.
