Serving up authentic greek fare, fresh salads and gyro and Pappous style sandwiches, this establishment has something everyone can enjoy.

Yorktown was chosen carefully as the the restaurant’s locale. As Cunha’s hometown, he knows the area well and said that he felt “a tremendous need for a new restaurant in Yorktown.”

Cunha also said that while he deliberately kept the menu small upon opening, he hopes to expand the restaurant’s offerings early next year.

“I started with a limited menu so that I could see how the local people responded to it…Based on all the information I have gathered, I will be expanding the menu with more traditional specialties as well as a nice selection of fresh seafood and expanded gluten-free options,” Cunha told the Daily Voice.

The restaurant also has a license to sell alcohol and offer beer, wine and Sangria, which Cunha says has been a “huge hit.”

Describing the atmosphere of Pappous Greek Kitchen as “warm and rustic,” Cunha hopes to expand in the coming year with an outdoor patio. The restaurant will also be rolling out a new curbside pickup option to maximize customer convenience. And starting Monday, Jan. 7 of next year, the restaurant will be open seven days a week.

Ultimately, Cunha, who previously operated eateries in Bronxville and Hartsdale, hopes Pappous Greek Kitchen will become a staple in the Yorktown Heights community.

“I feel that Greek cuisine is being embraced in every community for its healthy options, delicious flavors and low price point that in a few more years Greek restaurants will be a staple in every town along side Italian, Chinese and Mexican cuisines,” he said.
