SOMERS, N.Y. -- The Somers Library has released its schedule for adult events for September.
- Fall 2015 Writers Workshop Series for Adults: Wednesdays frp, 1-3:30 p.m. from Sept 9 until Dec. 16. If there is a book in you, a memoir, a fictional recounting of a time in your life or an historical tome, there is no greater time to preserve your written words in a class with other students who are exploring an idea, a work in progress or a chapter in their life. Presented by facilitator Linda Spear, a local author and feature writer with over 30 years of communication experience. Space is limited, so register early.
- Water-Soluble Oil Pastels and Water Colored Pencils: Six Part Workshop with Judika Lieberman, 10-11:30 a.m. Sept. 14 and 21, Oct. 5 and 26, and Nov. 2 and 16. Sponsored by the Friends of the Somers Library. Materials list will be available at the library. Class size is limited and registration is required. There is a $20 donation to the Friends of the Somers Library to offset cost of the class. Payment will confirm your registration. Cancellations must be given by Sept 8 for a full refund.
- Breathing Techniques & Meditation to Reduce Stress, Sept. 14, 6-7:30 p.m. A seminar based on innovative breathing techniques that can reduce stress and heighten mental clarity and awareness. The techniques and processes introduced during the seminar are easy to learn and practice, improve performance in the workplace, create a greater sense of commitment and team unity, improved relationships, and enhance the overall quality of life. Program is presented by Manjula Khanna and offered through Art of Living Foundation, www.ArtOfLiving.org. Registration is required.
- Paint On Glass (Vases & Vessels), craft class with Judika Lieberman. Tuesday, Sept 15, from 6-8 p.m. Sponsored by the Somers Library board of trustees and presented by Judika Leiberman. For ages 16 to adult. Bring in as many glass pieces to decorate and enjoy them yourself or give as gifts. You must bring materials to the first class. Materials list available at the library. Class size is limited and registration is required.
