SOMERS, N.Y. -- A pair of local Somers landmarks will host a series of events this weekend to ring in the holiday season.
The events, schedules from 3-5 p.m. Saturday and from 1-6 p.m. Sunday, will take place at the Elephant Hotel, a National Historical Landmark, and the Wright Reis Homestead, a town of Somers Landmark.
Saturday's events include photos with Santa Claus, the Somers Historical Society Open House, holiday music by Rich and Harry Egnor, a sign-along with the Somers Girl Scouts and a tree lighting.
Sunday's events include a gingerbread festival and a menorah lighting.
A number of other local organizations will be holding events during the season, including the Somers Historical Society, the Somers Library and the towns schools.
