Covid-19: 'Numbers Getting Better' Latimer Says; Latest Breakdown By Community In Westchester
Following a small uptick in COVID-19 cases in the middle of the week, Westchester has seen a dip as the numbers continue to improve, encouraging County Executive George Latimer.
Health officials in Westchester are currently monitoring 6677 active COVID-19 cases, down from 7,922 a week ago, 9,343 two weeks ago, and 11,193 as recently as Thursday, Jan. 28.
A total of 103,506 positive COVID-19 infections have been confirmed in Westchester out of nearly two million tests administered. The overall 5.2 percent positive infection rate is down slightly and among the lowest in the Hudson Valley.

Covid-19: 'Progress Is Being Made' Latimer Says; Latest Breakdown Of Westchester Cases
Westchester is making progress on administering the COVID-19 vaccination, County Executive George Latimer said, citing a decreasing number of hospitalizations and active cases.
There are currently 6,602 active COVID-19 cases being monitored in Westchester, Latimer announced on Tuesday, Feb. 16, down from 7,353 late last week and more than 11,000 cases three weeks ago, representing an approximately 40 percent drop in the past month.
