Man Charged With DWI After 100 MPH Chase Ends With Crash In Route 22 Pond A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges after taking a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff on a high-speed chase in excess of 100 mph before coming to a crashing halt through a guardrail and into a pond. Putnam County Sheriff Robert Langley announced the arrest of Brewster resident Mercer Given following the wild chase, which started on Route 22 near the intersection of Route 312.
