Karl I. Beitin, 79, Of Dobbs Ferry
DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – Karl I. Beitin, of Dobbs Ferry, died suddenly on Monday, July 20. He was 79.
Beitin earned his doctorate in engineering from the University of Michigan, and had a long career in design and consulting engineering.
He was a professor at Pratt Institute for 10 years, and founded his own engineering firm, Beitin Associates in New York City.

Salvatore Caputo, 71, Of Port Chester
PORT CHESTER, N.Y. Salvatore Caputo, a resident of Port Chester, died Wednesday, July 22. He was 71.
Caputo was born on Nov. 12, 1943, to Rocco and Concetta Pennetta Caputo in Morra, De Sanctis, Italy.
He emigrated to the United States in 1961, settling in Port Chester. He retired as a landscaper.

John William Drohan, 85, Of White Plains
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – John William Drohan, a lifelong resident of White Plains, died on Thursday, July 23. He was 85.
Droban was born on July 23, 1930, to Patrick and Mary Drohan.
He was a Korean War veteran, and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in White Plains for 37 years.
Droban is survived by his wife Patricia, his daughter Elaine Anne Jordan and her husband, Craig, and grandchildren Christina and Patrick Jordan.
Visiting hours are on Sunday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Ballard-Durand Funeral Home, 2 Maple Ave. in White Plains.
