Police intervention was required in Westchester when an Uber driver refused to return a watch that was left in a vehicle.

A White Plains resident told police last week that an Uber driver never returned her Apple watch, which was reported missing on Wednesday, May 8.

The complainant told police in Scarsdale that she notified the driver multiple times to return the watch, and he continued making excuses when speaking to him, ultimately announcing that he needed to be paid by Uber to drive north from the Bronx.

According to police, the driver initially refused to cooperate with police, at which point investigators warned that he could be charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor, if the watch was not returned - prompting the complainant to say she wants to press charges.

Following further police intervention, the watch was ultimately returned without further incident and the driver was not charged with any crimes.
