SCARSDALE, N.Y. With Scarsdale schools back from winter break, the village gets back to work this week with a busy calendar of municipal, civic and recreational events.
On Monday, the Scarsdale Public Library will hold an E-book Open House. Residents can drop in to learn how to access the Scarsdale Library's e-book collection on their Kindles, Nooks, iPads and iPhones. Attendees should know their passwords (for instance, Amazon or iTunes passwords). The session runs from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The Scarsdale Board of Architectural Review meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, in Village Hall's Rutherford Hall to consider applications from 14 properties.
Tuesday, the Scarsdale Village Board of Trustees will meet at 8 p.m. in Village Hall. Among the agenda items is a public hearing to discuss a local law to allow the Board of Trustees to vote to exceed the state's 2 percent property tax levy cap.
Also at 8 p.m. Tuesday, the Scarsdale Committee for Historic Preservation will meet in the 3rd floor meeting room, at Village Hall to consider the property at 101 Sheldrake Road, built in 1954.
Residents can get an explanation of the village's proposed capital budget at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 1, when the Scarsdale Board of Trustees and Village Manager Alfred Gatta hold a public information session in the third floor meeting room at Village Hall.
The Greenacres Neighborhood Association will be joined by several community leaders at its 8 p.m. Town Meeting Thursday, March 1, at Greenacres Elementary School. The meeting will be preceded by a coffee social at 7:30 p.m.
From 4 to 5:45 p.m. Thursday, the Scarsdale Adults School will hold a travelogue session at the Scarsdale Public Library.
