Police Blotter: Bike Stolen From Storage Closet

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Someone broke into a basement storage area at Chateaux Circle between 10 a.m. Monday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday and stole items valued at more than $500, according to a Scarsdale Police report.

According to the report, someone broke the lock and hinges on a storage closet and took a jar containing $15 in coins and a black Esperia bike with white lettering valued at $529. There was no forced entry into the building, according to the report.

Also on the Scarsdale Police blotter Tuesday:

Code complaint: A caller complained at 12:48 p.m. of plants and brush at the southwest corner of Greendale and Fairview roads obstructing the view of vehicle traffic. Police notified the Village Building Department, which said it would transfer the case to the Engineering Department.

Sign down: At 3:16 p.m., a caller said a street sign at Lyons Road and Boulevard was down and lying in Davis Park.

A caller from Jefferson Road complained at 10:19 p.m. that an unauthorized vehicle was parked at his neighbor's home and the neighbor was out of town. Police found that the car was a rental, but could not locate a driver and instead issued a summons for blocking the driveway.
