Combative 20-Year-Old Busted With 'Ghost' Gun During Halfmoon Traffic Stop, Police Say A routine traffic stop in the region ended with a 20-year-old in handcuffs on weapons charges. The Saratoga County incident happened just before 1:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 23, in Halfmoon on Tower Way. State Police said 20-year-old Shawn Koenig, of Pittsfield in Rensselaer County, was initially stopped for a vehicle and traffic law violation. The trooper ordered him out of the car for a standardized field sobriety test, but Koenig reportedly refused to cooperate. Impaired Woman Bites Trooper During Assault In Region, Police Say A woman who was high on drugs assaulted a state trooper and damaged his police vehicle during an arrest, New York State Police said. Troopers in Ulster County first made contact with the woman at around 9:45 p.m. Thursday, June 9, after witnessing her violate traffic laws on Washington Avenue in the town of Ulster, police said. Drunk Driver From Region Crashes Into Barn, Police Say A man from the region was arrested for driving drunk after hitting a parked car and then slamming into a barn. The incident took place in Monroe County in Rochester around 11:40 p.m., Wednesday, May 4 on Washington Street. Sullivan County resident Matthew Goldsmith, age 31, of Kauneonga Lake, was arrested after he allegedly drove his GMC pickup truck through an intersection and into a driveway, said Lt. Brian Unterborn, of the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.
