Fatal Crash In Region: Driver Hits Vehicle While Attempting To Pass, Police Say A 73-year-old man was killed after crashing into another vehicle while attempting to pass two others. The crash took place on Route 22 in Dutchess County on Sunday, Sept. 4 in the town of Dover near Kitchen Corners Road. An investigation determined Rodney J. Clark, of New York City, was driving a 2016 BMW motorcycle southbound with one passenger when he attempted to pass two vehicles simultaneously in a passing zone and struck the lead vehicle which was making a lefthand turn to exit Route 22, said Trooper AJ Hicks of the New York State Police. New York Woman Wins $1M Lottery Prize A Hudson Valley resident won a $1 million lottery prize. Dutchess County resident Loretta Lashomb, of Wingdale, claimed a top prize from the New York Lottery’s $1,000,000 Lucky Dog scratch-off game, the lottery announced on Monday, Aug. 22. She received the prize as a single, lump-sum payment of $559,860 after required withholdings, NY Lottery said. The ticket was purchased at Carol’s Gift Shop, which is located at 3081 Route 22 in Dover Plains, the lottery said.
