19-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured In Single-Vehicle Crash In Region A 19-year-old man was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in the region. The collision occurred in Orange County around 7:40 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 11 on Route 17 in the town of Goshen, said Trooper Steven Nevel of the New York State Police. Nevel said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2017 Chevy Traverse, driven by Queen County resident Andrew Joel Johnson, age 19, of Far Rockaway, was traveling west on Route 17 when for unknown reasons he lost control of the vehicle.  The vehicle exited the roadway striking a tree, Nevel said. Fatal Hit-Run: 17-Year-Old Struck By Drunk Driver In New York, Police Say A 67-year-old man faces numerous felony charges after fleeing the scene of a crash in New York that left a teenage boy dead, police said.  Sullivan County resident Thomas Piatt, age 67, of Bethel, was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 31 for his role in a crash that left a 17-year-old Cochecton resident dead, according to state police.  At the time of the incident, around 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, state police responded to Route 17B in Bethel on a report of a fatal crash. 2 In Serious Condition After Being Struck By Car In Region Two men from the region are in serious condition after being struck by a car while standing on the side of a roadway in the region. The crash took place in Sullivan County around 1:30 p.m., Thursday, June 29 on Route 17 in the town of Thompson. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Toyota Sienna was disabled on the right shoulder of the roadway, said Trooper Steven Nevel.
