44-Year-Old Canoer Drowns In Saratoga Lake
Crews have recovered the body of a 44-year-old man who drowned in a Capital District lake. Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials were called shortly after 9 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 1, with reports of a person struggling in the waters of Saratoga Lake, approximately a quarter mile north of Brown’s Beach in Stillwater. Callers to 911 said the man, who had been in a canoe, was yelling for help. A man whose car drove off an embankment and landed upside down in a local river died from drowning, New York State Police said. Edward Mastrangelo, age 66, of Queensbury, was driving in Saratoga County on Old Corinth Road in Hadley Sunday, April 24, when he crashed into the Sacandaga River, police said. Man Killed After Vehicle Crashes Down Embankment Into River In Hadley
A man is dead after crashing his car into a river in the region. New York State Police said the man was driving in Saratoga County southbound on Old Corinth Road in Hadley at around 8 p.m. Sunday, April 24, when he drove down the steep embankment and landed in the Sacandaga River. Troopers found the vehicle upside down and submerged in the river, police said. Divers from the Corinth Fire Department were able to free the man, but he was later pronounced dead at Glen Falls Hospital.
